Newsletter 9.2 - April 26, 2024

We hope your child shared some fun things they learned this month regarding the eclipse and Earth day! April was a science focused month!

Next Friday is Night of the Arts and we are excited to share another wonderful community event that focuses on student art, talent and creativity. I hope to see you there!

Our final General Association Meeting is Friday, May 3rd and we will have a special Volunteer "Thank you" breakfast for all adult volunteers before the meeting. If you have volunteered at any PTA event this year, we want to appreciate you!

Thank you to all respondents of our PTA members survey. We are taking your feedback into consideration as we plan for next year. The 5th grade parents had the most responses!

Join us for the spring Parents Night Out event on Friday, May 17th from 5:30-7 pm at New English Brewing in Sorrento Valley!

General Association Meeting & Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast

Friday, May 3rd starting at 7:45 am, we will be hosting breakfast for any parent who has volunteered with the PTA this year. We will be serving breakfast burritos, fruit, juice and coffee. We wouldn't be able to do all the amazing things for our children and our community without the help of volunteers. We appreciate you!

Our meeting will begin at 8:05 am and end around 8:45 am.

-Update on plans for the 2024-25 school year

-Drama Club update

-Additional information on Prop 28 and the impact on Arts funding

Earth Day - April 22

This earth day we were fortunate to have Michael Simkin, Emmy award winning producer of "Down to Earth", hold an assembly and Q&A for Ashley Falls students. Students also created butterfly art that will be memorialized in our butterfly garden.

The Ashley Falls Earth Day was organized by the Ashley Falls PTA. The Ashley Falls butterfly garden was sponsored by the Ashley Falls PTA.

Mark your calendars for Friday, May 3rd from 5:30 pm to 7 pm. We need your help to make this event a success! This is a fun event for students and family members to attend. Volunteering is easy and time slots are short. It's a great way to support the arts at Ashley Falls!

SLIP Family Information Corner

Last week there were 2 SLIP Principal Coffees. If you were unable to attend due to work obligations, please let us know and we can share information!

Save the Date:Sunday, May 19th from 11 to 1 pm, we will be having a SLIP Family picnic at Ashley Falls Park. All SLIP families from Ashley Falls and Del Mar Hills Academy are invited! Bring your picnic lunch and family and join us for a meet up with other families.

Big thank you to Connie Wong and Sra. Anderson for planning a fun Dia Del Niño celebration for the SLIP students today! Thank you to all the parents who helped out.
